Velo, which means “covered up” in Latin, is a bench casted and hand finished in bronze. The purpose of this experiment was to capture the subtle and natural beauty of curved creases – the artist gently persuaded and influenced the cloth while allowing gravity’s pull to naturally form the curves and creases. The artist’s objective was to highlight the beautiful, flowing patterns that are often formed by creases, sometimes only for a brief moment, and permanently and tangibly capture such moment by casting it in bronze.
