This is the latest extension of the long-term research project Radiolaria Experiment. By utilising a virtual fabric stretching tool which mimics the growth process found in the plankton Radiolaria (where the name of this experiment comes from), the artist formed an efficient and strong shape which one might find in nature.
Then the geometry of Gueridon Ex09 was further enhanced by the advanced engineering technology of Altair which allowed the artist to see the inner flows of stress and optimize the design and stability of the guéridon.
During the production, 3D printing was also used to realize the form which was then casted in aluminium alloy, hand crafted and finished.
